Carpenter Ants?

I had a large oak limb break off the tree about two months ago. Yesterday I cut the limb up and made about 4 cords of firewood. The wood had a lot of carpenter ants in it.
My thinking is Carpenter ants like wet moist wood, so now that the wood is split and drying the ants should leave it alone. Is that a correct line of thinking? I have it in my wood shed drying with about 10 cords of good seasoned wood would hate to have carpenter ants destroy all of it, but since it's dry thinking I am good....

I would spray it to make sure they are dead...

Spray it with Bengal Roach Spray. It will kill them all.

frick me thats a big tree. I wouldn't worry about the ants. If they are able to still inhabit the wood after its dry then spraying wont do much long term. Carpenter ants are everywhere, if they find conditions they like then they'll take up house.
Kinda like how people get fired up during termite swarming season thinking they'll start eating the house. No, termites are everywhere. If there is wood for them to eat and water to drink then they'll be there and its not because you saw them swarming.

It was a big tree! The branch that fell was about 18” in diameter and about 35’ long. It was more like part of the main trunk that broke off. It was a lot of wood.
My thinking on the carpenter ants as well I nicked most out of the wood as I split it and as it dries I think the rest will leave.

I'll edit to add I had my cord measurement off! what I thought was 4 cords is actually 2!! Good thing I am not in a firewood business!
