Have you tried swapping the OEM jet(s) and needle into the Chinese body and float?

Why not rebuild the oem carb? Nvm I see that’s what you did. Float cracked or something.

don't see on any parts diagram where there is an O ring for the needle valve to seat to.
That model may not have one. See if there is a small screw going in beside the brass seat. If there is remove it and pull the seat out.
Some justvpress in and have an oring.
While others are pressed in with no oring.
Spring can be week on the needle and cause issues too.
Use a wooden match to polish the seat, works better than q tip. May have build up that q tip couldn't remove

I guess I have been lucky.
Put it to you like this, you're less likely to get a chinese carb that works more than a few weeks than you are to call a number at roulette.

Get yourself some mopar or yamaha combustion chamber cleaner. Spray the seat down and anyyhing brass. Wait 20 minutes and then rinse with gas.
Are you 100% sure it's float related and not drain related? Over torqued slightly and it can pull a little air in.

After taking a picture of the seat, then zooming in really close, it appears there is a pressed-in seat. Looks to be a really thin piece, that my 40-year-old eyes couldn't see before. Also shows just how pitted the carb body is from this bike sitting!
I can't find any seats that look like they'd be thin enough to even come close to fitting, so I once again swapped the OEM jets over to one of the Amazon carbs. After a LOT of riding, tuning fuel jet, adjusting idle screw, repeat repeat repeat... I think I have the cheapo carb dialed in pretty dang close to running like stock. And after sitting for a few hours, still no leaks from overflow yet!
As always, thanks a ton to everyone who chimed in. I appreciate it greatly!

Check the float for a leak. If it’s good the float valve is bad

Thanks for the update. I have 2 that are doing the same thing. Haven’t really had time to mess with them and they’re 3 hours away at 2 different camps. At least I’ll have another place to look for the problems.
