Can this tree be moved and replanted?

Or would it be easier to just cut it down and plant something else in a different spot?
I actually have 2 of these, the other is in the same exact spot opposite side of yard.
We planted them as 15 foot tall trees 3 years ago. We never planned on building a fence there. Obviously plans changed and now the trees need to be moved or cut down.
They are schummard oaks.

That is not what I was expecting to see.

If you are gonna do it this is the time of year to. I don’t see why you couldn’t move it. Just make sure to dig out a bigger hole then you think you need and be careful taking the tree out, especially the roots. Get someone to help you but of course it can be done

It can be done. Make sure to get as much dirt around the roots as you can. After you dig it out put it in a tarp or something to move it so dirt doesn't break off.
OR plant another one. The bigger the tree, the more stress. Sometimes planting a small one is better- it grows faster.

Option #1. Take down fence. Get a back-hoe to dig up a big root ball. Dig another huge hole. Replant tree. Replace fence.
Option #2. Cut them down. Replant new tree further away from fence.

You may as well try and move it, I mean you have what 30 minutes of your time to lose? If it doesn’t bloom right away in the spring you will know. As said just dig a bigger hole around it then you think and give it a go.

How far should I put it from the fence?
(I want it as close to fence as possible how it won’t eventually raise the fence up.)

I wouldn't plant any closer that 8-10 feet. The tree is going to grow out a couple feet at the base, so you want enough room to be able to pass easily between the fence and tree.
