Can Am Defender Max vs. Polaris Ranger Max

Looking at getting a side x side. Torn between the Can am or the Polaris. Has to be the Max since I have 3 boys and a wife and we all hunt. Which is the better buy? Whatever I get will have roof, windshield and half doors. Wife wants an enclosed but she is unsure if she wants to pay the extra money. A buddy of mine has the Polaris max enclosed north star and it’s nice but if u idle too long with the Ac on the check engine light blinks.

We looked at both and decided to get another Kawasaki Mule FTX as our previous Kawasaki's have been bulletproof. We purchased it in June and have already put 1200 miles on it just around the ranch. The new Mule 1000 has even better shocks and a larger, more powerful engine
Between those two, I'd go with the Can-Am.
Our farm and ranch real estate agent puts about 5000 miles per year on these machines and she is on her 3rd Can-Am after coming from a series of Polaris Rangers. She trades them in every year and said the Defender seems to be more reliable than Polaris and she likes it better. Hope this helps

My first and only canam blew up with under 20 hours on it. They refused to warranty it. The bike had about 230 miles of cruising. Zero mud. Zero abuse.
I will never own another.
My ranger has a little over 10k miles on it. Other than me messing up the steering with overly big tires, it's been great.
Bought a yamaha, but I barely use it as I'm always working off the damned ranger.

I looked at both, but went with a Honda pioneer 1000-5. I’ve been very pleased so far.

2nd the Mule. I have the pro-fxt and its plenty enough room for the wife, 2 boys, and gear

I’d buy a used 4wd jeep or a tacoma before I spent $30k on a side by side with AC, power windows, and heat.

I have a Defender HD9. I have about 500 miles on it. Bought it back in March. I use it around my property and to cruise around the roads in my "neighborhood." I don't mud ride with it or anything like that.
From the dealer, I got a 20" light bar, pod lights for bed/reverse lights, the roof with speakers and a bluetooth head unit, and I replaced the stock tires with BFG KM3's. They are awesome. They drive great on the road and don't tear up my yard when it's wet. I'd recommend upgrading the headlight bulbs immediately. You can look at the forums as to which ones to buy. It's a 2 minute swap that makes a world of difference.
My only gripe about the machine thus far is the stock brakes squeak like hell - so bad that it was annoying to drive. I swapped the pads with EBC carbon brake pads and it solved the problem. Easy, $150 fix.
