Up here in Bossier Parish b4 the season started, someone was going into the camps and vandalizing them and putting spikes out in the roads to flatten the tires. guess they were radical peta groupies.

Locks just keep honest people honest - a thief is going to steal until they get stopped, locks or no locks.

Had over 20 camps hit last year in W.Fel parish. There really is no way to prevent a break in but there are ways to help recover your things or at least help LE find the ones who did it.

Of course if you have an infared trail cam use it. Especially during the off season.

Dont leave valuables behind. If you do take the time and record the serial numbers

If you have a flat screen tv take the time and mount it to the wall.

Baby powder on the floors will help with footprints for investigators

Roofing tacks on window seals ( They climb in, poke their hand, and leave DNA behind)

Leave a 12 pack in the fridge or laying around. if possible take a marker and make some type of mark on the bottom of the can.

Many other things you can do, just use your imagination. Also, report everything. Never know what may be the ticket to solving it. Something as simple as color of you nock on your arrows.

Otherwise known as the "Home Alone" theft deterrent system.

And the police Have seemed to give less than a rats arse when I have had things stolen. We had the plates on the dude that stole my generator(I was in kitchen, it was in garage about 12 feet away...thief waited till I came home and opened garage!) and the police didn't even track them like 20 minutes after theft...so I doubt they do any DNA investigations.

Just telling you how I do mine. Had a camp that was broken into and the suspect cut himself on some glass. They bled all over the place, used bed sheets and towels to clean it up then burned the items in the campground. I was able to get DNA from the scene. I got a confession from a suspect before receiving DNA results from the crimelab but it did help in the trial.
