my pawpaw called me t-neg growing up.. I guess because I tanned dark during the summer.. remember him telling stories about catching spankings in school for speaking French.. one of the last generation of people that spoke French before English.. he is pretty old now (WWII vet) and his mind isn't what it used to be.. when we visit a lot of times mawmaw will have to translate our English to French for him if he cant remember the English word

Never heard the "quel" before it, but yeah, I think you got the right word.

You pronounce it like I said? "awnt"?

Never heard the wood duck one, but when someone said "qui na" they meant what's the matter in Avoyelles Parish.
Also, Chauge, I agree Someone could say Kek Chauge and mean something.

Sometimes "affaire" pronounced rolling the R, meant something too. "Il croh son affaire est groh", "He thinks his thing is Big"

Probably said with an H in front as in Hauwnt" Ashamed.

"Il est hawnt du son affaire." "He is ashamed of his thing."

Affaire can be anything.

my grandfather used to bring a "Frenchman" as he called it hunting when I was little. He had names for all the ducks. I'm going to have to see if Dad remembers.
