Me and the mrs have been in Jasper/Banff for the last 11 days and wanted to finish our vacation doing the infamous Devils Thumb summit hike. We unfortunately had to turn back about a 1/2 mile from the summit. We were able to summit Big Bee Hive which overlooks Lake Louise. We really wanted the picture from Devils Thumb though! Heard a lot of Geaux Tigers on the trail though!

Yeah, we stayed at the Pocahontas Cabins about 20 minutes outside of Jasper on miette rd. It is a winding mountain road that leads to the Miette Hot Springs. We stayed for four nights there and did some awesome hike with amazing views. Then back down the Icefield Parkway (take a full day to do this) so much stuff to stop and see and we even hiked Parker’s Ridge.

Then we got to Banff and stayed at the Charlton on Banff Ave. (their Main Street). Did some awesome hikes here and also got to go to Lake Moraine and Louise.

I will do a full write up with pictures in a little while.

Awesome view! Sounds like a very special trip. Why's the lake water an odd color of green?

Damn you, now I really want to go back. Did yall take that rocky arse trail with the steep switchbacks to get there? My below sea level self almost died because we did it last, even AFTER the trek to six glaciers .

That's a real special area and I will return.
