yeah you can tell the difference between 26 and 28 inch redfish under water, at night, in a moving boat after you all have stuck your one over 27 inch fish.

Same with deer hunting. Just let the little ones walk (or swim in this case)

Yea finding one between 16-27 inches seems impossible. No way. 11 inches is just not enough length to play with. You're killing the fisheries you evil bowhunting bastards!

I've been Bowfishing at least half a dozen times out of Port Sulfur.

I can tell you that most folks will do a lot more missing than hitting. Meaning people surely kill more by gut hooking fish while fishing with a pole.

As far as being able to tell how the big the fish are most folks have to rely on the guide but even so most people miss anyway.

it is a kick in the arse to go with a group. And it's definitely something to see. bait boiling as the airboat rounds a corner. you wonder how suicidal a fish has to be to get caught on a hook.

What's worse: a bow fishing guide that takes his crew out and gets 30 reds or a guide that takes a crew out to fish for specs and brings in a few hundred specs plus limits of reds?

Bowfishing bows generally seem to be cheaper than hunting bows. You don't have to have much speed on the arrow (or don't want much) and don't have to draw it back all the way, from what I'm told. No sights either. As long as the bow's consistent it should be good enough
