Bought a really cheap double action OTF knife and I love carrying it

My son is really into pocket knives and was dying to have an OTF knife. He did some research picked out a "Titan OTF" from a web page called grindworx he wanted. $30. I gave him some jobs he worked and earned the $30. You get free shipping if you spend 50 so I looked through their stuff and picked out a dagger point "Lightning OTF" in Zombie Green cause it was the cheapest color they had.
They came in last Friday and Ive been carrying it all weekend. The knife itself is a little chunky. It is almost like carrying around a box cutter. Fit and finish leave a lot to be desired. The thumb trigger is quite stiff so I don't worry about it triggering in my pocket. The blade shoots in and out quickly and with authority when activated. It was surprisingly sharp for a cheap Chinese stainless steel blade. While I don't love the knife itself I *love* the double action blade how quick and easy it is a deploy and close.
I've used assisted bladed before and can flick out my sheepsfoot mini griptilian in thebut being able to retract the blade into a safe condition with one hand so quickly and easily is hard to beat. That's one reason I stick with my mini gript is the axis lock makes it easy to deploy and retract with just one hand. But the OTF takes it to another level. I installed 420sqft of LVP this weekend and countless time I was holding something in one hand shot the blade out made and cut and restashed the blade in 1/4 the time I could have done with a traditional lock blade. As of now the Lightning OTF is now the EDC knocking out the Mini Griptilian. Time will tell how well this one holds up. Not sure if I will ever start looking for a "Name brand" oTF. They can be quite pricey

Spend the money on a Microtech. That Chinese pos will fall apart soon enough.

They are really neat. I have a couple, the Benchmade Infidel and the Microtech.
I might like the microtech more and definitely do for the money

With someone would make a decent small one in the $100 range. That's about my limit an EDC because I tend to leave them in pockets and lose them for days at a time. SO I actually have about 4 EDC's and use any of the 4 I can actually find at the time When I start getting into $300 knife territory I start looking at new guns instead.
