BP, I still owe you calls. I've been letting the wood dry before I make them. They will be there though.

There's one on LSU campus by the Indian mounds, my mom used to make us pick up horse apples for decoration. Don't those take a really long time to grow/mature?

Grows very well in La. Was used to enclose pastures before barbed wire. Look along fence lines on old home places. There is lots and lots in East Texas. I've encountered it from the headwaters of the Sabine to San Augustine.
Makes an excellent bed of coals for dutch oven cooking. Just make sure you don't build your fire with some ones fence posts like I did.

When I went to the Auburn/Ole Miss game 2 years ago I noticed they have an Osage Orange tree on campus that was at least 15 feet circumference.

There's at least one behind the Mom and Dad's house. Pretty sure it is on the snake creek side. And there are numerous on Tunica WMA.

Seriously? I know the difference between honey locust and osage orange.

There is an osage orange tree somewhere behind the house. I know I have seen the weird looking oranges back there before.

Make a camp fire with the left scraps,The wood will burn blue, real pretty. I once traded two full toyota pickup truck beds of osage orange tree logs for four bags of pot.
