Does anyone know what documentation is needed to transfer LA trailer plates to a new owner? I have called 5 DMVs including Baton Rouge and no one answers the phone. I cannot find a list online as it says "call your local DMV for more details".
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Bought my boat from Alabama used. No titles on trailers and no one here can tell me how to get one. I got tired of trying and said frick it. They can tell me how to get it if I built the trailer but not from buying it from Alabama.

It’s not difficult at all. You just need the noterized bill of sale, a hold harmless form noterized then take it to the sherif department and let them inspect it. After that you just fill out the form at the DMV pay the taxes
Whenever buying a used boat for Louisiana you should alway breakout two bill of sales one for the boat motor and all accessories and a separate for the trailer.

Not a chance in hell I am tossing my permanent boat trailer plate. My next trailer will identify as a boat trailer.

Thanks everyone.
Was able to get in touch with a retired DMV employee. You need an executed title and bill of sale. You can transfer boat trailer plates.
Google didn't turn up anything more than "call the DMV"...who does not answer the phone.
