Whatever you do, PAY ATTENTION AND ADHERE TO THE NAVIGATIONAL MARKERS.

Do NOT attempt to just go straight out or straight into the mouth of the Tchefuncte...

Trust me on this one. I learned the hard way after having to buy a new prop from running aground the first time I ever attempted to go out of the t-func.

Happened to me my first time too. Luckily my prop didn't break and I was still deep enough to trim up and get myself out of it.

Marina Del Rey on the east side of the river at Madisonville, or the old Coast Guard station a the end of LA 1077 on the west side of the river. The road to the latter is an axle breaker.

Sharks in Lake Pontchartrain

I've also read accounts of Tiger Sharks in LP.

I've heard there are sharks in Lake Maurapaus right now, not sure how much truth there is to it. There are crabs running in blind river right now, even towards the launch, so it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm still skeptical of that picture. Hopefully that was the only one in the river.

I used to fish the shores just about a 1/4 mile from the mouth and we would catch a good number of baby bull sharks so I'm sure there are more. Maybe not that big, but definitely big enough to take an arm off
