Just starting to fish big lake since moving to this side of the state from east side. What’s better tide here in y’all’s opinion?

As long as it’s moving one way or other. Certain places it’s better in or out but don’t over think it. When I have time and the wind is ok we go fishing. Keep a book and write down your good and bad trip it will help as you learn the lake.
It can be a Great Lake and can be frustrating at times but we have more good than bad
Tight lines
Don’t forget get the crab bait Kids love crabbing

I like an incoming tide for the northern part of the lake.
Be careful in areas in West Cove on low tide.

Where are you docking?
Wanted to mention that the tide at Calcasieu pass is about 4 hours before the Hebert's area, depending on wind and tide strength. If you don't have tide one spot run south or north and you will find some movement but burn some gas.
Good luck and might see you out there !!

West Cove. I plan on taking the duck boat this trip because I will be by myself. If I had to guess west cove would be about 30 mins behind the pass. Low tide is right at sunrise so figured would be slack at first there. Probably will run up to long point see if still falling.

Had a killer trip, Had my 15 trout, 1 flounder and couple reds
Weather was perfect. Caught most in middle of lake on some birds and grabbed few on reefs. The size was very nice for being on birds. looks like wind will be picking up again
