Those first couple of lip ripping hook sets will seal the deal.

But seriously, Is there an iPhone app that marks spots? Not necessarily to mark a guides, just to have when fishing in general.

Just drop a pin on your maps.

Can you get coordinates off of that?

I honestly don't know. The last time I fished with a guide was pre-iPhone.

Ok, take him, but take his phone and don't let him bring a tackle box on board.

I'm usually in the marsh but when i get home i go onto my private google map and drop pins where i caught it. then label by location/date/conditions on the side.

so that the next time, it's easy to find similar past conditions

You can hide a GPS in it.

You really won't need GPS coordinates to mark good spots. Just about everyone, including guides, generally fishes the same spots on the lake; turner's bay, long point, commissary point, weirs, and jetties. And not to mention every damn boat out there will chase a diving bird! I've fished that lake my whole life, and one of the best things I did was buy a hook-n-line map for the lake that helped me out quite a bit. That place can be one of the best or can be one of the toughest inshore fishing experiences of your life. One of my favorite things about that place is no matter what is going on in the lake, I can always catch something out of the ship channel.
