Heard many different things and I have never hunted where they had hogs until this year. These bastards can really destroy some shite. It is now my personal goal to kill 15-20 of these worthless animals. TIA

They love sour corn. Hell they just love corn, want to attract some? Plant a field of it with the intention of harvesting it later on, they will come in droves to eat it.

Seriously though, we have always baited our traps with a mix of corn or sour corn. Always worked for us.

Thanks guys. Any idea on catching them at the right time? They seem to have no decernable pattern when I catch them on the cameras. It's a pack of 12-15 of them.

Five gallon bucket of corn add water, let it sit for 3 or 4 days in the sun then dump it out

Diesel +corn. Hogs are only animals that will eat it.

I have heard from others that the leftovers from a good corn mash work better than anything else on earth.

Strawberry jello sprinkled over corn. They also love old fish grease.

wild hogs

They are EVERYWHERE. Where I hunt, it looks like a bulldozer passed through parts of it. But no, just some hogs.

I saw sign when I walked in this morning for the first time on this stand. Had 7 come out and shot right the back of one. They were all small pigs. All I did was put out corn and rice bran.

Would they eat under a feeder in the marsh even if the corn went under water every now and then?

I've seen them pick corn out of the most sour smelling mud hole under a feeder you could imagine.

I've always wanted to get them trained some how. Like feed them a certain food with a distinct smell for months. Maybe mix in a little cocaine or meth with it then cut them off for a week. Once they have withdrawals I can come in and put some out and when they smell it they come running

For easy hunting plain dry corn and time. They will find it and pattern it as long as its a timed feeder with minimal throw.

For quicker results soured corn. 1 40 lb bag two 5 gal buckets with lids, and warm water. Allow to sit in sun lids on for 1 week. Dont spill it in vehicle. Place on ground where you want them but also hang some in a burlap sack about 6 ft up so it drips slowly and gets smell in the air.

If you need to turn the back on after they get wary of a site, try switching the bait up. In those circumstances we alternate dry corn, soured corn, and fruity sweet corn in that order.

Lots if options for fruity sweet but I like to add no sugar added rasberry jello powder to 2 liters of cheap pinnapple soda. Pour our dry corn and a pkg of jello powder on top of it and then spray the area with the soda mixture ( get it on the trees)

Diesel soaked corn, anything peanut butter, rotting fruit, any soda flavor especially rootbeer, rice bran, sweet feed, molasses, etc all work too. Dry or wet.

If you need them to alert you they are there (hunting in the dark) a hog pipe works well. If you need a long time to take a shot or have a very specific place you need them, dig a hole with post hole diggers and put the bait in there.
