We are traveling soon and I am looking for some recommendations. Looking on Amazon there are a ton of options but it always hard to tell what reviews are legit or not. TIA.

I have had the cabelas brand top carrier for years. (spent my cabelas points) heavy duty. I like the way it can conform to your luggage shape. waterproof. I just throw it atop the 4Runner and strap it down. (the front to back spacing of the 4Runner luggage rack could be larger for easier fit but I have made many trips with it for several years)

After the bag, if you need more room, remember a hitch rack hauler with Home Depot 70 gallon carrier totes

I went with putting a trailer hitch on the Suv and got a hitch wreck. Less air drag and more capacity.

Yeah I use the hitch carrier on my Jeep and Truck (if my bed is full). Make sure you get one with side rails it’s much more secure and gives you rails to use to tie down equipment.

I can fit 2 of those large black bottom yellow top crates from Home Depot and still have plenty of room for other stuff.

I got a bag for it too so that my stuff doesn’t get wet.
