Why limit yourself to $300 when it comes to defending your life?

I think most women could handle a hand gun much easier than a 20 guage.

There's a HUGE difference in quality once you cross the $400 price with pistols. You don't want to trust your life to a $300 POS. The best pistol in the lower $400 price range is the Ruger SR9. For home defense, stick with a full size pistol and hollow point ammo.

ETA: If the wife is involved, get a. 38 Special revolver for ease of operation. Most wives don't want to invest time into training with pistol operation and malfunction clearing.

Little more then 300 but look at the Taurus judge. A lady can't go wrong shooting a .410 defender.

Nobody shoots a handgun better than a shotgun.

A shotgun has to be shouldered which is more difficult than just aiming and pulling trigger.

Bersa thunder .380. $325 retail. I use a P220 Sig Equinox .45 in my vehicle, and a colt delta elite 10mm for the house (I use to use an AR-10).
