pretty much. My 1/2 ton is 10 years old and I'm limited on what I can haul with it.

I really want the bare minimum accessories on a 3/4 ton 4 door lwb 4x4.

I've found a bunch of 2012 and 13 3/4 GM trucks with as engines and decent mileage. Likely someone that wanted a 3/4 ton and got tired of paying for gas and traded in for a 1/2 ton

FT, this is true. Those 3/4 ton gas burners will hurt your feelings at the gas pump.

ICS, I ain't talking to you until you put the good avatar pic back.

I know you use to rodeo, you running cattle?

Get the 6.0 and tune it up a lil bit with a programmer and what not and it should be plenty.

I got it taken down 2 times. I was told the 3rd time would be a permaban.

I'm still hunting for a replacement.

About to pick up another horse, have a plan for cattle if the price will come down a bit, and only being able to use our tractor in places that I'm willing to drive it to sucks.

Nothing mentioned here can match the duty cycle of the 6.0 vortec.

That motor is made to pull forever. Couple it with a 4L80E and 4.10 gears and 200k miles is a cake walk. You'll burn plenty gas, but you won't burn up the motor.

IMO the 8.1 vortec is the only motor that's better. It's unquestionably the toughest gasser ever to roll off an asymbly line. It did a 24hr bollard pull without failure and is the only gasser ever to do so. The ford V10 made 8 hours IIRC.

shite I don't know. Flatbed with a 50hp 4x4 kabota w/loader and implements would probably be the heaviest. 24' cattle trailer with 12k # of cattle

What you consider long distances?

Most with a big load would be 50-60 miles

Yea yea I got all that.

I can point to 3 Chevy 6.0's with over 200k hard miles on them with zero drivetrain issues.

I know one guy who worked his 6.0 significantly harder than anybody else I know of works a diesel, and it still purs like a kitten with 215k miles. It spent almost 100% of its life with a load on the gooseneck ball.

People can argue about diesels because there's competition. In the 3/4 ton gasser market there is no competition.
