Not sure about that. The 5 link coil spring has payloads up to 3970 pounds. I don't know what Chevy or Ford offers.

Coils that have a 1800lb payload capacity? My F150 can do better than that. And has more hp and tq.

6.4 ltr HEMI has 410 hP and 429 torque. Your saying the Ford 6.2 out does that?

It appears that I'm running my mouth and have no idea what I'm talking about. My apologies.

I looked up the payload capacity on a 2014 2500 longhorn last night and was shocked at how low it was. Must have missed where they add airbags from factory to bump it up.

The dodge HD 2500 are rated for over 3000lbs. There isn't a half ton on the market advertises that much payload

Is 411/434 more than 410/429?

Yeah I misread badly about the payload capacity. I was even looking at diesels too. I'm happy to learn this because I'm trying to compare a 6.7 Longhorn to the 2015 F250 6.7.

I'm pretty sure the air system is only for load leveling, not adding extra payload capacity.

The Ford diesel actually outdoes the Ram diesel a little. But I'd still take the Cummins.

I was just trying to compare 5th wheel towing and conventional towing. I completely misread the chart and thought that the upper end rams had no payload capacity. I now see that incorrect.

The Ford 6.2 still has better numbers than the 6.4 though

No problem ICS, I am currently a Chevy guy but if I was buying tomorrow it would be a dodge HD. I think they are making the best truck right now.

Does Chevy still have the Allison transmission?

It would be something else if Ram ever paired the Cummins with the Allison. Pretty sure the Deuce and 1/2 s I used to drive had that combo.

One bc that dodge will need a new tranny at 100K if it makes it that long. Dont know much about the new Fords bc well there new. And cut that BS environment shite off and add a programmer like everyone with a diesel anyway.

LINK

Thats with the 6.7

quote:

After our initial '11-model-year-truck testing last summer in Michigan, we were left wondering how the high-output (400 hp) version of the new 6.7L Power Stroke would have faired against the 397hp 6.6L LML Duramax. Surely with 800 lb-ft of torque, the new Super Duty should give the 765-lb-ft Duramax a run for its money in a test of power, right?

Nope. It wasn't even close.

Once again, the Chevy proved to be the superior performer when it comes to acceleration testing. In every towing test we ran on I-70, the Silverado 3500 outperformed the Super Duty F-350. The Silverado made it through the quarter-mile more than 2 seconds quicker, achieved a top speed that was nearly 10 mph faster, and finished the entire climb more than 2 minutes ahead of the Ford. The Duramax performed significantly better at 11,000 feet of elevation as well, pulling the 18,900-pound load at 47 mph, while the Ford slowed to 30 mph. Check out our acceleration testing sidebars for the full results.

Whoops that is the old one, the new one has the 15 F350 vs the 14 Chevy and Dodge and it wins.
