I don't really have the energy to walk through this argument with you. I don't care enough.

Does anyone here use straight Flurocarbon? I've only used it as a leader.

I've tried both casting and spinning. Total failure.

There really is no reason to use it anyway, especially 100%.

All my spinning has either braid or the fused lines. All but one of my casting is mono. I still love mono.

The only mono I have rigged currently is my freshwater setup for Buzz/Spinner Bait.

I do. On plenty of my baitcasters.

I know we have been down this road before. But, they all have their place. I also have reels spooled with mono and braid. Depends on the application. I use straight fluoro for mostly bottom contact stuff and crankbaits. I don't like dealing with leaders if I don't have to. I can cast fluoro just fine.

It's a must for what I do the most: casting a 1/32 or lighter jig head. I tired 4lb fluoro. Turrible.

If you don't need the sensitivity or neutral buoyancy of fluoro, then there's no reason to use it. That's it's only advantages over mono.

There's no convincing Alx, and for a lot of situations it's really just personal preference.

I keep a particular mod-fast rod rigged up with 10lb sniper for throwing jerkbaits, 3xds, and squarebills and someone would have to pry that setup from my cold dead hands.

I will switch back and forth between braid with a mono leader and straight flouro on my worm rods depending on where I'm at. Just as soon as I get it spooled I decide I need to change back. I've considered ordering a couple spare spools for each reel so I can keep different sizes/types of line spooled and change them out on the fly.

It's not like I haven't tried. Most of the benefits are fake anyway.

I use braid for top water and punching, fluoro for nearly everything else

Top water is the one thing that I absolutely have to tie a mono leader for. I can't stand when braid gets fouled up on the trebles.

I agree with the exception of frog fishing in the heavy slop...
I have to have braid with that technique...

Frogging is its own deal, straight 65lb braid for me.
