I noticed the marine forecast for Friday changed to Northeast winds at 15-20 knots. For those attempting to fish on Friday, I'd stay tucked into the marsh and protected canals.

I think you should be good fishing Monday or Tuesday considering the winds are not howling. I had two friends that caught their 50 trout in Lake DeCade this morning by 9:15am. Can't get much better than that!

MB -

No reports from today as the rain kept everyone inside. Tomorrow looks like it will be a bit breezy and I'd expect very low water with the front pushing through. I actually canceled the charter I had scehduled! That's not to say you can't go fill the boat up, but it may consist of hanging out in some protected waters. Good luck if you make it out bud!

I posted an update on Decade on a trip yesterday. It was bit slow and windy after the front. Put 20 keeper trout in the box.

Don't know what the weather will be this weekend but I believe the tides will be flat so consider yourselves warned.

Popping corks are still the key in the lake and surrounding areas. The colors vary a bit from day to day depending on water conditions. You should be able to find the right color pretty quickly if you have a couple buddies with you so that each can throw something different. Right now the hot colors would be Chartreuse(solid), purple/chartreuse tail, and glow/chartreuse.

Please elaborate on the warning. By flat you mean out? Never fudge this area so I'll heed any warnings. Thanks

U need to learn how to read tide guides man..
Flat means that the range bt high tide and low tide is not very significant (not much movement). Bad tide days = bad fishing days unless the wind generates movement

Tide is flat in shell beach too, bud. NW winds at 5kts switching to south by afternoon.. Gonna be a tough bite IMO. BUT the sun will be out warming the water and that can go a long way sometimes. Can't make decisions for u

Fish the banks anywhere in the area and you will catch reds. If you can find a point or runout in the lake or canals you should catch a limit quick. Best bet would probably be to tip a plastic with shrimp under popping cork or use a gold spoon.

Me and MountainTigah fished Lake Pelto yesterday. Slow slow with only 8 fish on board. Couldn't talk my hard headed boat partner into going to Decade.

I heard a few weeks ago they were killing them in pelto. It is hard for me to make that run when the fish are 5 minutes from me though.

They are out there, they just had the lockjaw and conditions were not right. Water was dirty and wind was just a bit funky. When the wind lays this week, Pelto will be on fire.

I hear ya. It's hard for me to run north to your waters. I'm way south.

What size are they catching in Pelto? If 18" and up I will run over there in a heartbeat.
