Pawn them Coons off quick while their still cute.
I've caught a bunch. Use to sell them Back in the day for 20 Bucks a pop.
Raised one Male and , Well you ever tried to get a coon off the bed eating a BBQ Chicken leftovers from the kitchen garbage can..
You just let him eat it cause the sheet is already ruined and no need to go get Stiches.
Raised a Female , Even had her spayed. Had her for about 2 years and a strong Blow came in for a few days..never seen her again.
I'm done with them..

Two experiences, one a success the other a nightmare.
The nightmare was a neighbor I had growing up. His older brother found two babies in the tree they'd just shot mama out of. He kept one and his friend the other. They were great for about 6 months or so, but they kept him penned up when not playing with him. Then he just got mean and aggressive as shite. Couldn't pass within yards of the cage without it going crazy.
The other was a story similar to the OP. Friend found one under his cabin porch. He kept him fed and watered. Brought him in occasionally. The dogs and cats all got used to him being around. He never tried to pen him or let him inside too long. Thing was friendly enough. He'd wonder off and come back on his own. He'd sleep around the porch and play with the dogs. As he got older, he'd stay away longer and longer. But, made regular visits until he was more than 2 years old.
Wild things are meant to be wild.

True story my toolpusher had a young raccoon and had it with him in his pushers shack at the rig. It was early in the morning and my TP stumbled into the top doghouse laughing so hard he was in tears.
His brother Delbert was the morning tower driller and was visiting with him down in his pushers shack and was sitting on the edge of a chair while they talked. Delbert was wearing shorts but no underwear. The little raccoon was running around on the floor and scurried under his brothers chair. He said the raccoon looked up and must have seen Delberts nuts hanging because the raccoon reached up and grabbed them.
He said Delbert jumped up screaming was waddling and staggering around until he finally got himself loose from the little raccoons grip.
