AR-15 Purchase - Question

All:
I was planning on buying an AR after the first of the year. Obviously over the past week or so things have become sparse.
To those of you more knowledgeable than I, if I were to purchase a "back ordered" AR (they're saying 10 weeks right now) and with all this potential legislation possibly coming down, would you order it?
I guess I'm a little concerned about dropping that kind of money with the possibility of all this legislation that may be in the works. I'm just not sure of the consequences either way.
TIA.

They won't charge you until it ships, more than likely.

From the few vendors I've contacted, all have said they will charge upfront.
One guy said he was ONLY accepting certified checks too.

They're also saying 10 weeks.
I'm trying to decide if I should just take my chances now versus waiting...

Care to help me look for a Stag Arms 2TL?
I called about 6 - 8 local and somewhat non-local vendors and all of them said they had ZERO AR's.
I would much rather go pick them up but that particular gun is hard to come by it seems.

Haven't had any problems. My particular gun ejects them forward.

Interesting. I guess I've seen videos where it has struck people in the face before.

My father also shoots lefty on a standard AR and does just fine. Can you really afford to be that picky right now?
