AR-15 Diamondback DB15 - What type of optics should I use

I don't plan on using this at night so I really don't want a thermal. I was thinking of getting a Vortex OPMOD Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44mm Rifle Scope vs using flip sights or red dot. I plan to just use for target practice and maybe hunt some hogs at my deer stands.

Would like some suggestions as all my other rifles are traditional platform rifles. I won this gun a couple years ago through a gun raffle and just haven't done anything with it yet. Just been sitting in the closet and I have never fired it.
