Btw, my sig pic was taken in the Boulevard. Caught a mess of bass that day and the weather was beautiful.

Henderson is so accessible from lafayette but I don't get out there very often. I always amazes me how beautiful that place can be.

Gate is locked to the public. USACE gates to maintain Indian Bayou reserve.

The haul is about 500 yards from the gate (1500 ft measured on google maps), but shouldn't be much if you have a Yak tote on wheels. There is an old launch right around mid-lake.

I access the oxbow by the river with an outboard, when the Butte LaRose river gauge is 11 ft or higher. There's a coulee on the north point of the oxbow to the Atchafalaya river.

When you own property, that seems a lot less funny.

I always err on the side of caution if I'm unsure. But there is a problem of lack of or conflicting information in this instance. That launch apparently has private property signs, and I've been told by some locals that it was ok, while others told me it wasn't. And the Indian Bayou map says it's public. This doesn't exactly help people who legitimately want to do the right thing. But I agree that when it's known that it's private property, you shouldn't trespass.

Clear private property is a no go, if there was a gate or a sign stating no public launching or fishing I wouldn't even bother going. Maps showed a truck parked there with a trailer so I assumed i was okay to launch
