Well I'm still alive so you frickers can't have my guns yet and here's a quick update on the morning trip while I have service--this is nuts. Its an entrirely different world and nothing compares as far as fishing goes. Its extremely nerve wracking at first being so low on the water and I felt like I was going to be tipped over and eaten with each "bump" I felt against the kayak. However after a while you get used to the elevation and feel and it becomes serene and peaceful. My coworker landed ab a 4.5 foot black tip around 7:30, it literally took him for a ride like a husky pulling a sled the first 5 minutes then he fought it for ab 45 min before cutting the line. I hooked AB a 80 lbs wahoo shortly after but he got off before I could get him close enough for a pic. Huge adrenaline rush dudes, I love it. Still no sharks for me but we're heading back out at 5:30 hopefully Ill have some pics tonight

never on purpose, but those bastard have eaten trout and reds right off my line. Really screwed me in a kayak tourney at Cypremort once.

Don't you wish that evil on me Bobby Booshay!! shark week is having to really get creative these days.

Also I'm shocked I hooked a wahoo that close to shore, only ab a mile out. Drunk idiots on speed boats worry me more than the sharks TBH.

Same thing happens to me when fishing for king and Spanish only dolphins are the culprits.

but who the eff wants to row that far out

Not far at all, I love yacking in the gulf. I've never target sharks that big but have caught 15-20 pound threshers on light tackle and it's a blast. I'd be a little apprehensive about a 6' bull shark from the yak

I've seen bonita in the surf crashing the beach chasing bait. It's not common but those deep water predators don't have any qualms about chasing bait to the end of the gulf
