Picked a peg Perego John Deere Gator in pretty good condition in the neighborhood. Exterior is not dirty or faded so it’s seems to have been well kept.

Charged battery. Light began as yellow and turned green < 8 hours later. Plugged battery back in and nothing.

There seems to be a lot of DIY online for these. First step is to test battery/charger to ensure they are working properly.

Anyone have any other advice? If I could get it working for <$100 I’d save about $300 on the price of a new one.

Get a cheap battery on Amazon to replace. My son has put some serious miles on that thing. Best Christmas present he ever got.

Check the wiring at the plug and all the way to the motor. Wiggle the gear shifter with foot on the gas. We had to get my bot another set of rear wheels for his.

I put a deep cycle marine battery in mine and mounted the battery in the bed. Kid could run all day on charge.

I’ll check the wiring as well.

I’ve seen a lot of comments/videos online about people replacing the battery to get better performance. If I can get it running we may have to do that

My kid liked his ran it like crazy, never got the stopping part down too well. Just waited until he ran into something, mostly his parents.

I had a wiring issue, and ordered a kit if I remember correctly.

Get a volt meter and start testing at the battery before firing the parts cannon

Upgraded my kids to 18v, went through a set of tires every 3 months.

That’s all I got.

My kid got the 12V Peg Perego Rzr last year for Christmas. It is slow as shite, so this year for Christmas, I'm converting it to a 24V. The videos of the speed post-conversion are awesome.
