I know LA is the redfish capital of the world practically..and that’s one of the most sought after species on the fly...specks to a lesser extent.

Anyone here into that at all? I’m predominantly into trout because of where i live now, but interested in the fly culture down there.

I fly fish a lot but wouldn’t say predominantly. But, it is my favorite type of fishing.
I tie my own flies and used to build my own rods.

I’ve fished a lot of places and all of my fishing trips were fly fishing.

Yep, though not predominately. Id prefer to catch trout on artificial over just about everything but I always enjoy snaggin some redfish on the fly. Sight casting while your buddy poles you around is almost like a team sport. Definitely something every avid fisherman should try.

I don't fly fish much anymore

Caught a many bream and some beasts on a 4 weight. A good 3+ pound bass too

Gotta strip and not reel.

I dont do it predominantly, but the fly rods are always in the boat when i go redishing. i usually take it out first thing, miss a few reds, switch to conventional, then after catching a few, switch back to the fly rod.

its a kick in the pants to catch them on the fly.

Used to live in St. Tammany. How’s the redfish fishing on the Northshore?

Ive heard of some people catching redfish along the causeway. Havent tried it myself but it wouldn't surprise me to find redfish in the lake with as much bait is in there right now.
