Don't forget about the huge breakup of Crown Z. That is where most of the timber co's got their current land in the south
Willamette got a shite TON of land from S. H. Bolinger & Co when they went bankrupt in 1967 I believe. That's where most of their Louisiana, Alabama, etc. lands came from.

I believe that CZ and Willamette merged a long time ago(40s or 50s). CZ was the bigger of the 2 and the merge eventually became named Crown Zellerbach. The hostile takeover of CZ occurred in 85 or 86.
A lot of old guys call pieces of property by who owned it when they were younger. They always talk about the old, so and so property and I have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. They also always argue who owned the property and what years

Not trying to make this a classified ad, but I've got just over 6 acres in Walker for sale. Its cleared and ready for a home/barn/etc. I am a little closer to town, off of Arnold Rd. between 447 and 449. The further out you go, the cheaper it gets.

I cruised about 600ac of timber last summer with one guy that was 78 and another who was 82. The tract was directly west of Cow Island Lake in the basin. Those old bastards didn't blink an eye. We ran 8 lines all of the way from Butte Larose to Cow Island Lake. The 78 year old one fell down once, but we took the opportunity to eat lunch. No problems afterwards
Moral of the story....you aint getting old

Unemployed forester. Timber markets, hunting, and ground moisture pretty much shut everything down during winter months. I aM probably gonna start back up pretty soon because I need a part time job since I am going back to school. I will tell you this, there isnt any other job in the world that I would rather be doing. I think about the woods at every other job I have had and wish I was still there
To the OP, I sometimes check SONRIS to see who owns what property. You can also see who owns what wells and who owns them

be careful with that, the well name will only show who owned the land when the well was spud. If you have a well from say 1995 and the land has been sold, the name of the well doesn't change.

If I remember correctly, it will show the owner of the well. I have seen property formerly owned by Roy O'Martin with other company's names on the info now

You mean the operator? It won't show the land owner's name but it will show the current operator of the well.

She's in the main office. I'm in North Louisiana and deal with Peyton Weeks mostly. Cathy is the main office lady that takes my money once a year. I dont have her number in my phone and cant find the email. Peyton's number is (318)-238-7228

This shows the owners and operators as well as the history of the well
It might not be the most up-to-date info, but a lot of times they are put in a family trust or a company owns it

Yea, under well name it shows the owner when the well was drilled, but if it's an old well, chances are that ownership has changed, but the well name doesn't change

I gotcha now. I have always been on properties that have family owned wells(trust) or a large company has owned them for a while

I'm the resident SONRIS wizard at my office. I get questions about it about 5-10 times a day
