Anyone ever use a Benjamin Marauder?

I've been toying with the idea of getting a good quality air rifle to take out in the woods for small game. I've heard some good things about the marauder but wanted to check with y'all and see if its any good.

Got one 3 years ago. New model has couple new features. I have the .22 Very happy with accuracy outside of a flyer every now and then using Diablo pellets. Make sure you have a plan on how to refill your air supply.
They have a current offer at moment. Can use code "TOGETHER" at crossman.com to get 10% off your order.

Ive got a .22 and it’s pretty awesome, it’ll shoot minute of squirrel head groups out to forty if it’s not windy. Friend of mine with a chronograph tuned it for me which made a big difference. The right scope, that parallaxes down to 10 yards, is also important to superfine accuracy. Not cheap for the whole setup but would recommend.

Mine likes the Diablo Jumbos too, nothing else is close

Have a .25. Nice gun. I can hit a 6" square aluminum sheet metal every shot at 100 yards and punch holes. Used to fill it with nitrogen but don't have access to that anymore. Haven't shot it in a few years.

Thanks for the input guys! I'll probably get one with the stimulus check

Do you have a .22 bolt action? Get a silencer.
My .22 bolt action with silencer and subs is quieter than a pellet gun

You've never heard a tuned PCP. Suppressed 22 is in the 110-120db range. PCPs are in the 80-90db range. Some claim below 80. My Benjamin's nitro piston 22 is way quieter than even my Henry frontier 22lr suppressed shooting cci 22 quiets. My spring pistol Ruger Impact is somewhere between the nitro piston and supressed 22.

I've been knocking around the idea of going PCP. I'm shooting a Umarex Octane currently. It likes Predator Polymags, and it took me about 600 shots and 6 different pellets to get it to settle in to good accuracy.
Report back with what you get and how you like it.
If you get a spring or nitrogen piston, don't get discouraged. I hated mine for a few weeks, until it finally broke in. And learn about the artillery hold. Will help accuracy as well.

I’m speaking just from my pellet gun which is an RWS. Not sure which model or anything.
The rifle is a Ruger precision with a q el Camino. With CCI subs you can just about hear the firing pin drop. It’s truly Hollywood quiet. Actually more so
My S&W m&p pistol with subs and the suppressor is loud compared to the rifle. When shooting the rifle I can her the bullet make impact with birds in the backyard.
Now I will not say that there are not quieter pellet guns but I’d love to see one.

True that, the pellet smack is the loudest thing you hear. On a calm day I’ll put this pellet gun against any .22 lr for accuracy to 40 and .22 shorties have no chance. The guy tuned my gun shoots a Taipan Mutant PCP in .22 and will routinely knock a bird at 100 yards with a range finder and ballistic calculator on a calm day. He has an obscene amount of money in his setup but the accuracy is also obscene

I shot one a few times when I was younger. I’ve wanted a PCP gun since then but could never justify the cost. I don’t know how I would fill the tank either. I’ve shot a 22 Benjamin pump for a while and I’m good with it. I recently bought a gamo swarm magnum 22 and it’s badass for a crack barrel. It’s just starting to get broken in and I’m starting to like it more.

Apples/Oranges. They have been discussing pcp guns.
If any of you are looking break barrel, the Sign is the one.
Oh, and it's diabolo.

I'm eyeballing the Umarex Gauntlet myself. Under 300. Regulated. Field supply has the 177 refurb for just 199.

How are you going to fill it?

I own a Benjamin high pressure hand pump I found at a bargain hunt for $15 several years ago. Just been sitting in my closet waiting for me to pull the trigger on a PCP.

In my post, I specifically said subs which are no where close to 110.
I just downloaded a sound meter app.
Any one know how accurate those are?
ETA: I looked up a Marauder. That's a different animal that what I had in mind, but my .22 with silencer and subs is still just as quiet (I think)

I was just going by the various SPL charts I've seen using CCI standard velocity ammo supressed and they normally say about 120dbl. I shoot 22 quiets suppressed out of a 23" lever gun and I would say that setup is still significantly louder than the PCPs I've shot.
Fast forward to about 1:30 where they start shooting to get an idea what a PCP will sound like.
