Going there this weekend to check it out. Hopeful to get on some stripers. Tips or advice is welcome.

Went there a ton about 10 years ago. Last time I went was 2007 or so. Never really caught anything but that was because I am a horrible fisherman. But there is this place called chimney rock that has a 40 foot jump you can do if you are into that kind of thing. Lots of boats on the weekends gather just to watch people do the jump. Kinda like a tailgate. I love it out there. Water is absolutely stunning.

that's been my experiences as well

Awesome lake. Very big but I'm sure theres some good spots in the lesser developed part, as well all the man made structure (piers, docks, etc).

We have a place there. Beautiful and big, but not much of a fisherman, except catfish.
Chimney Rock above.

Agree. Save Martin for summertime as an 'excuse' to say you are going fishing. I do this for Aquapalooza.

My family has a place there. We spend every summer up there. The fishing is hard on the west end of the lake becuase it is clear water, cystal clear. We have ahd several really good fishing trips up there for stripers. In october you can catch them on topwater. The water will be really low this time of year. If you look at the map of the lake, it make a check mark. If you head to the bottom of the check by the dam and channels are the spots to fish for them in the summer. not sure about early spring. In the deeper water, the stripers can be caught trolling with typical baits. Get a map of the lake to find the deeper holes. Also, if you feel like having some real fun, you can catch them south of the dam, standing in the water current. I have only done this once with some friend and we caught a few but, it was in summer when the water was warmer and higher. Try looking at LakeMartin.com. Also, locals at the marinas and other places are really Freindly (can point you in the right direction. However, it should be pretty dead around there this time of year.
