It's not like here in Louisiana. I'm from So. Ohio and usually you can knock on the door and ask the person to hunt. Most of the time if you kill something, you give them some of the meat.

You can get licenses over the counter. Cause I'm going back home to take my son on a few rabbit and squirrel hunts and I buy my out of site license at Kit Carsons over the counter.

Note: I'm not saying hunting in Louisiana is awful in any sense. It's just different and something I'm not use to. Cause we don't do private leases or hunt camps. We just know people and knock on doors.

It's not pressured and like I said before. Most people would let you hunt if you just ask and share (if that want it). I hope this helps some. If you need more info, please ask.

Sounds like you might know someone with a "problem." Know anyone that has some land that needs someone to take care of their "problem."

All expense paid, lodging(dockside), 2-day saltwater fishing trip in exchange for weekend buck slaughter.

I have made many friends and hunted some awesome land for that trade. What we take for granted in fishing is what many other people take for granted in hunting.

I have been fotunate and picked pretty good times and done excellent. I know a lot of the charter captains down here very well so that helps with networking and knowing where the fish are. I was also able to get a shrimp boat to let me pull up to them and let the guest watch them pick up there nets. I took some frogging and look at the alligators at night. The whole experience is amazing to people who have never experienced it.

I am jealous. I went to Canton 2 weeks ago and it is beautiful. I was not able to explore a lot as I was on a business trip but it looked like prime hunting real estate.

That is a damn good deal. I go on a bow hunt every other year to South Dakota (black hills) and it is amazing the amount of animals they have up there. It is all public land and you can literaly drive all day and not see another person. No hunting pressure at all and deer are everywhere. I wish I could move there for the fall.
