I'm getting too old to split wood with an axe.
Thanks.
Thanks.

How much wood do you split a year?

Last year did about 8 truckloads.
Doing this for a relative that is in bad health.

I have been splitting 1-2 cords of oak a year for the last 10 years using a 110 volt electric Ryobi splitter I bought a Home Depot for $200. It's a little under powered but meets my needs.

Those at Tractor Supply are hard to beat for the cost. I usually split about 5 or 6 chords a year with one and owned it for about 12 years with little trouble.

I had a buddy give me a 35 ton unit that the motor died on. It was his second motor and he want willing to buy a third.
I bought longer hoses and hooked it up to my tractor and it works just fine. Im actually planning on converting it to 3pt hitch so I can use it in the woods a little easier.
Look around you might could find one and do that as well.

Should've been using a maul.

So you are going to buy a wood splitter to help a relative out? Why not just buy an electric heater for them?

Found some on eBay, Dirty Hands 35 ton, with Koehler pro 9.5 hp, manufacturers refurb, had a valve leaking, and it’s in 100% condition, paid $1100 with shipping, couldn’t be happier, look up irvatools, he has a 35 ton for 1299shipped, with manufacturers warranty
