I will be using it tomorrow, I just looked up the serial number and it was made in 1954, two years before my dad was born. He gave it to me for my 14th birthday.
hopefully will have a picture tomorrow with it and some squirrels.

I’ll use it squirrel hunting after a bad hunt or two with my .22.
Didn’t take long.

@bobdylan,
Is that a 12 gauge Model 12?
What size shot did you use?
You and your son have a great memory there.

Thank you, it was great!
It’s a 16 gauge and I have some 8 shot that was given to me that I’ve been widdeling away at.
Wouldn’t be my first shot selection necessarily if I had more options (I like high brass 6’s) but it’s been lights out on squirrels.

I have several model 12s my dad left me in his gun collection and I bird hunt with a pigeon grade 20 gauge. Probably one of the best American made shotguns ever with the 1100.

I have two old model 12's. The first one was made in 1932 and it was my grandfather's shotgun that he gave to my dad, who then passed it on to me when I started hunting.
The other one belonged to my great uncle who died back in the 1980's but stayed in possession of my great aunt until she died in 2005. It was made in 1937 and has a poly choke built onto it.
Both are 16 Gauge and are two of my favorite firearms overall. I have not hunted at all with the one that was my great uncle's but I've killed a several squirrel's and rabbits with the one that was handed down to me from my dad.

I have an AL391 Urika 2 Gold as well and I will always use a Model 12 or A Browning Sweet 16 first.
