Where exactly (pics would be good) did you install your transducer?

Yeah I'm having an issue with it staying mounted. Bass Pro owns the problem but I'm not sure they know how to fix it permanently.

TIA

Hows that happen? Screws are pulling out of the transom? I've never heard of a transducer coming off

Get a jackplate even if manual.

Does BPS recommend no jack plate, or did you choose to not get one ?

OK I'll answer several posts.

I chose not to get a jack plate.....not convinced I need one.

Bass Pro used 3M 5200 when they REINSTALLED the transducer.

Yeah it's pulling out of the transom.

Called Bass Pro yesterday and they'll have to get with Nitro to figure out exactly where to install.

This doesn't seem to be a new issue; not sure if it's an issue with other glass bass boats tho.

Would attach to a piece of starboard and then starboard to transom. Post pic of location on transom giving you the problem.

A transom saver is not my 1st option but I get your point

Yeah I'm pic posting challenged; I do have a couple of pics tho and will relook at them and describe in detail the location.

It must be too low on the transom and dragging its arse off or something. 5200 is some bad shite and fully cured it will often pull the gel coat off before letting go. It takes a very long time to cure to structural strength (a week + depending on conditions) so maybe it wasnt cured. Either way, a stainless screw ran through 5200 into the transom should not come off at all ever no matter what. Something fricky going on

It is low but not that low. It's low enough to read while I'm on plane but I'd bet real money it's not dragging. I think the turbulence from the motor is creating havoc with it but that's a guess.

That's quite possible but I did exactly what the Bass Pro guys said (yeah I know).

Tell me about it. The Customer Service Rep at Bass Pro is calling Nitro today. I'll update as it progresses bc I'm certain I'm not the only one that's having a problem.

Whatd they say? If it didnt rip the gel coat off it probably wasnt cured or wasnt applied in the right conditions. You shouldnt need it though just screws should hold it fine. There must be a void in the transom you're screwing into or somethint.

How far below the bottom of the boat does the transducer stick and how fast do you go?

This is my take

It's not below the bottom of the boat; I'm going off of memory (I can't bring my cell phone into work bc of security) but it's about 3 maybe 4 inches up from the bottom of the boat.

I usually don't run faster than 40 or 45 but a lot of my fishing I never get on plane; I idle to where I'm going. I can go faster than 45 but I rarely do.

This is crazy. I have never heard of this.

OP, go to tinypic.com

-load your pic
-Hit the resize drop down
-select message board (640x480)
-upload it

Once loaded
-copy the link titled IMG code for forumds and message boards
-come to TD and paste that link into the text box. Do not use the IMG box to the right.

Super easy.

If its above the bottom of the boat it isnt dragging at all. It's probably not in the water at all at speed. That ain't the problem, mines 2 inches below the bottom.

So that leaves you with an issue. Again the 5200 probably wasnt cured fully if it didnt either rip the gel coat off or leave a very hard to remove residue on the transom.

You've got some kind of issue under the gel coat though. They just picked a really bad spot to put it, probably screwed into a foam joint or a void where there is no meat.

This is my belief and Nitro needs to tell Bass Pro where the meat is
