I live on Hwy 22 at the Parish line and really considering fishing the Tangi River soon. There is a boat launch just south of 22 that I would put in. I moved to this area 2 years ago and still haven't fished around here at all.

Are there any fish in this river? Bream, saccalait, cats, etc? I can set out yo-yos, trot lines, and catch any fish on a pole. Does anyone have any pointers on some weekend fishing that would include an ice chest of beer and easy fishing?

I've got a buddy down the road that's from NE Arkansas and he is adamant on fresh water fishing. I was pretty sure we could catch a mess of bream and catfish by drowning some crickets and some stink bait, I mean ivory soap.

mr. armstrong, the feller that owns the cricket farm in w. mecca had a fire in one of his buildings the other day and 400,000 crickets were burnt to a crisp..

I be damned. I had not heard that. I worked for Armstrong as a 16 year old during the summer delivering crickets for a month or so until All-Stars started.

I am sure the other reproduce quite often to replenish the herd though.

Yeah, we do really well with tangi when we fish tournaments out of manchac. Are you talking about lees landing launch? That's where we launch and we go up river and catch some nice bass.

I wade fish the Tangi quite often, but I'm much further north. I just bring my Zebco 22 with a tube jig and a spinner and hit the little pockets of back water. Perch, Bream, and Bass pretty frequently if you hit those pockets. You also MUST throw up river.

Launch there and go up river. Right by Shelby stangas camp there is a semi- circle little pass. 2 sunk boats that the monsters like to live under. We weighed in a 4 lb and 6 lb last may fishing a tournament. Also keep going up river until you get to clear water and there are a bunch of pockets to fish that produce, but be very weary of logs they are horrible. I think Shelby stock piles them in the middle of the river

Villages at Bocage or Bedico Trace?

Have you tried fishing Bedico Creek since they dredged it?
