They're poo

I work on them every day and I would buy a polaris sportsman 500 fuel injected 1st then a yamaha grizzly.
I work on more hondas and arctic cats than anything
polaris has the best engine trans and fr and rear diffs by far
hondas have shitty wheelbearings and brakes. and the rearends get water in them very easily suposedly they fixed the rearends but my buddys 2012 gets water in the rear diff every time we ride.
polaris pulls better and will go through deeper water. plus it rides better than any ive eva ridin
and ive rode or owned most

Rode last year at mud nats. With a guy with an artic cat, it literally stayed broken the entire trip. It was one thing after another. I've never personally owned one but have seen plenty having issues. I wouldn't recommend arctic cat, but that's jmo.

I hve a 2000 Honda Rancher 350 with 13k + miles on her. She's a beast.
Posted on 1/24/13 at 5:31 pm to KingRanch
the 350 seems to be alot better than the 250 and older 450s. my biggest prob with honda was the all wheel drive and drum brakes on the front

I wish Can-Am was on this list.

Ive road in some pretty bad mud rides and Arctic Cat seemed to do pretty good. I have seen more polaris' broke down than all other 4 wheelers in the ride combined

what wzas brakin on them cause thats all we ride now because we are so hard on them and they are the brand that last for the way we ride.
most people say belt slipping but if you seal the box you will never have a prob.
ive worked on atvs for 15yrs and have only rebuilt 2 polaris 4strokes and prob. 50 honda rancher and foremans. maybe 10 yamahas, 10 brute forces[not many around or would be more]

I thought the reasoning behind drum brakes was to keep more mud out. I understand they keep it in once it gets in there, but it is harder for it to get in initially.
I also like the simplicity of the older Hondas. Manual shift, carbureted, no power steering, etc.

I love the fuel injection for my bike but i wish they were all carbs now with the ethanol. rebuilding carbs is prob. 60%+ of my bussiness.
you can get a driveshaft disconnect from warn to make it so you can disengage the frontend.
you can get a front disc brake conversion for 250 now to.
electic shift is a pos.
I like the older simple bikes to. they just ride so rough. its very noticable after owning polaris'

I was with magic mike on that ride. It was horrible. That guy would have sold that brand new cat for a case of beer.

I have a 2000 300 4x4 Article Cat. No problems whatsoever till the ethanol crap. Got the carb cleaned and run nothing but pure gas and have no problems. Rides better than buddy's Honda because of independent suspension and has pulled a 27 foot camper around. Has about 1000 miles on it using it first on little mud in hills and hollers. Now I got got muddy river bottoms with lots of mud and standing water and it has never let me down. Raise it 1 1/2 inches to put bigger swamp witches on it and it is still a beast. Suzuki used to make the motors till about 2003 or 2004 and Artic cat made the rest of the bike. Still using the hell out of the bike.
