I have my boat on a lift in the Rigolets. Would it be that long of a run for me to get in some decent area to try and get after them next year?

If its a calm morning crossing lake borgne you can be in Biloxi marsh wma in 30 min.

As jimjackandjose stated, it is a long ride from the launch. My typicall hunt out there involves an hour boat ride, but we stay out there and hunt/fish all day.

Biloxi marsh wma

Y'all will have to forgive me for my lack of knowledge but is this something I can get around with in a flat boat and a 9.9 on the back?

You can, but it would take you forever to get to the actual wma so it's probably not with it with that horsepower.

Yea biloxi wma does require a decent boat ride. I have a 18 foot weldcraft with a 115 and it takes me about 25 minutes to get to my usual area. There are quite a few ppl that come into the wma from the rigolets. That part of the wma is notorious for cans and redheads.

When we take my buddies boat we use a boat blind but with my boat i pirogue in and sit in the grass. The bottom is pretty hard in the ponds so you can sit in tall grass on the edge with your feet in the pond.

Where are you running from? Also, how do you check into that WMA when you're in a boat? The day before?

I launch from breton sound marina. You dont have to check in at biloxi wma. Just have the wma permit on you. Most of the bayous are deep through the area just be aware that there are a bunch of dams on the wma.

Are you sure about having the permit in you? I have gotten different answers from a lot of different folks. I have never carried one, but I have never been stopped.

To the OP, We also take a flat out there, park and wlk in and sit in the grass.

The permit is on your license. Wma certificate or something like that.

Just another little $15 thing added to your regular hunting license.

From the Rigolets, this would be a run it seems.

I'm looking at the least, 30-40 minutes I guess.

Depends on where you hunt. Big open ponds big spreads. If you get into small potholes you can throw out 8-12 dekes and be good. I like to pair them up and put them throughout the pond.

I've never hunted Biloxi WMA but it's exactly 10 miles from the mouth if the Rigolets (train bridge) east/south-east to the northern tip of the marsh. (I fish the Bayou LaFee area a lot).

If you want to go more south or deeper into the marsh then it's longer obviously.

Crossing Borne in a flat is always a gamble. It can be dead calm in the am but 3ft rollers, or larger, heading back in. Have to be prepared.
