Get some worm buckets and you'll definitely catch something.

I will tell you that me and two friends put in at his house about a mile past Fred's and fished no more than half a mile from the diversion and had a pretty successful run. Little lake action north of the rope swing. Having said that, I drove back upriver from Port Vincent to Jones Creek on Sunday solo and caught 3 nice ones. I made the trip in a 12' bateau with an 8 hp Merc though and I still bottomed out a couple times so I don't think your 17 footer will get you very far. They really need to clean the trees out of the river between Manchac and White Oak, it gets real skinny out there and I'm in about the smallest boat you can put an engine on. I agree with the Upper>Lower; lower river is for skiing, Fred's and rope swinging

So because I havent been posting on here for long you are offended by my question? It's people like you who give the rest of us Louisiana people a bad name. I bet you also try to tell people that you are so hospitable and welcome people ftom everywhere

what weagle means is that if you only have 9 posts (or 10), you obviously haven't contributed much to this board. and now you're on here asking for people's fishing spots. first of all, posting a fishing or hunting spot on an internet forum has a real good shot at dooming the spot. and secondly, since you can't possibly have contributed anything to this board yet, you're basically freeloading. why don't you list some good public land spots to go fish before asking for ours? we've done this several times in the past with handing out free information and several times people's public spots have gotten burned out.

information may be free to pass around in other hobbies or topics, but hunting and fishing spots are pretty hard to come by.

Anyone knows some good bass fishing spots on the Amite river diversion canal area

Freeze this winter hurt them pretty badly. I'd try Blind River. The little lake has a more pronounced effect on temps in the Blind River, therefore the fish there were able to make it. There hasn't been a bass caught above Bayou Manchac in the Amite River this year.

Hurricanes have hurt it, i know this because i caught bass with a net in my paw paws yard during issac. I have gone in the past few weeks and caught some nice fish tho. If we can go about 2-3 more years without a storm, it will be back.
Right now, you cant cast a speedcraw without getting a goggle eye bite. But they are big enough to keep yet. Next year they will be tho.
