Anyone knows some good bass fishing spots on the Amite river diversion canal area

run over to Blind River Bar and turn up Blind River towards St.James Boat Club... lotsa areas to fish...

No. That is a very finicky river. Seems like every time it starts to come back they have a hurricane in some part of the state that causes a big fish kill. Get off the Amite and in some of the canals that run off of it and you can have moderate success.

My aunt and uncle and a few other folks I know used to be in bass clubs and fish the Amite all the time and do well. Now, no one i knows fishes it.

we used to make float trips in the 70/80's and fish for bass from up in Mississippi down to Hwy 37...all in a 16' aluminum boat...no motor...parked a truck where we took out and drove another one and dropped off where we put in...camped on sand bars...floated the Tangipahoa, Tchefuncte and Bogue Chitto as well...caught a lot of fish...good times...

Big fish kill for Katrina, then Gustov, then Isaac. The fish have taken a pounding over the past couple of years. They are not running the Wendsday fishing tournament from Canal bank this year. This first time in 13 years unless it is being ran from the boat club...

Dutch bayou at the mouth of blind river is known to produce if the water is moving right...,

The end of reserve canal right there is full of cypress knees, holds fish when it's right too
