Original WLOX article clearly stated cwd found in all counties listed. They have now changed it and I confirmed that MWDF is only willing to confirm one case at this time. I posted exactly what was send to me by another member. I am glad to email to and moderator the exact screen shot of the GD article. However, my buddie confirmed exactly what I am stated here word for fricking word “ We are only willing to confirm one case at this time.” Take it for what it’s worth.

All supplemental feeding (corn etc) is completely banned in counties listed.

I fully expect there to be more cases. Keeping fingers crossed though.

They are not talking and I am not at liberty to disclose anything other that what I posted above but they are clearly expectimg additional positive test results. Let’s just hope from same area or herd. Here is best I can find online on this. [link=( https://www.mdwfp.com/media/news/wildlife-hunting/ms-outdoors-radio-cwd/)]LINK[/link]

I am not aware of any high fence operations in that area on either side of the river. Is anyone else?

Not saying that is the cause just curious if there is one in that region.

CWD hit they found close to 40 dead deer just one their property in like a 3 month period.

That sounds like EHD. CWD doesn’t cause massive die offs. Deer can live 18+ months with it.

That’s a standard reaction. They will likely create a CWD zone that will have different regs than the rest of the state. The zone usually consists of every county bordering where a CWD positive deer was found. In Arkansas they outlawed supplemental feeding, but still allow baiting during the season. I’d also expect increased bag limits in the CWD zone. I’m sure they will also make it illegal to transport deer out of the CWD zone other than deboned meat and a cleaned skull cap.

They had CWD but most died of something else due to immune system being down. I want to say it was something similar to brucellosis but cant remember for sure.

Thats not always the case though. Like I said earlier, one if the issues with CWD is that they are getting conflicting info from every outbreak. Some deer live close to 2yrs with it and other die within 4-6 months they are not sure why. The same thing with the rate at which it spreads, sometimes its rapid and hits large percentages of herds and in other places it is slow.
