Can anyone point me to a specific regulation stipulating no alcohol on WMAs? Obviously not during hunting season, moreso for crawfishing, fishing and frogging.

This is from the hunting regulations:
quote:

Disorderly conduct or hunting under
the influence of alcoholic beverages,
chemicals and other similar substances
is prohibited.

but I found nothing in the fishing regs or on the website. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Thanks OB.

We were drinking some beer around the campfire while camping in Tunica when the GW pulled up. He asked us how long we were staying and if we did any good. Never said anything about the beer.

Probably doesn't help you any, but in that instance it wasn't a problem.

Can you point to a reg anywhere that says this? Or have you ever personally been told this? Crawfishing out at sherburne they didnt give me grief but that was several years ago.

Why can't I copy and paste from that. Doesn't say alcohol is prohibited, just disorderly conduct and hunting under influence.

Crawfishing & frogging are covered in the fishing regulations and nothing in there mentions alcohol possession or consumption on wmas and nothing on the websote does either.

Should have clarified. They require a fishing license to do those activities, not a hunting license. As such, they wouldnt be considered hunting. My real question though is whether alcohol is banned completely on wmas or just while hunting.

You want to drink while frogging right? I would doubt that's allowed.

You want to drink at designated camp area, that's fine

This is what i figured but cant find it spelled out. Since they spell out the no alcohol while hunting, i am inclined to think (hope) it may be allowed all other times, including fishing, frogging and crawfishing.

I think you can basically drink at campsite only and not right before you go hunting. I may be wrong.

do what i do: call the enforcement division of DWF. hear it from the horse's mouth. they're the ones who are giving tickets so if it's even a little gray, why not get them to weigh in on it? even if you decide to do it, at least then you would know to be careful.
