After 3 years of waiting, it's finally here- .50BMG

I've wanted a .50 for quite awhile. This started with a fascination of trying to make the 1000 yd. shot. I started by visiting Mark Serbu in Tampa and looking at his guns, came close a few times to making deals on Steyrs, Safety Harbors, and always continued to look at Serbu. Finally, last week I was able to get this AR-50 which was also on my shortlist.
I put a a 4.5-30 Bushnell Elite Tactical on it, Allied Precision bipod, and an Armalite 30mm mount.
I debated the merits of the .338 Lapua many times for what I wanted to do, but after finally shooting my .50, I can say there's nothing quite like it.
If you like to shoot, and want to make the next step...the .50 is the way to go. Recoil on the AR-50 is minimal- I would say less "punchy" than my AR-15. It's heavy and long (about five and a half feet) so if you get one, don't plan on trying to hold up a Circle K with it.
God Bless America for letting us have cool toys!

I am jealous. It pushes everything I have wanted to get out the door. Awesome Rifle. I think I need one for my "End of Times" scenario.

Whenever you want- you and Big'Un need to make a trip and shoot it. I would like to say I could get rid of all my other guns now, but.....Nah.

I lucked up- This rifle in particular spent 6 months at Cor-Bon getting custom loads made for it. So, included in the deal was 240 rounds w/ 750 gr. Barnes solids. When they were made 2 years ago, they were $6/round. I got 'em for a lot less.
Off the shelf Federal is about $5. But there's a guy in Shotgun News this week advertising some for $1.50. I may buy some of them to goof off with.
L to R- 7.62x39, 2 3/4" 12 ga., .50 BMG. They are a lot bigger here than when I fondled them at gun shows!
Reagan is in the background blessing the works.

It's sooooo worth it. I have a fair collection and have been shooting for right at 30 years. Nothing in my life has ever gone boom! quite like this thing.
