Academy brand rods - mind changed

I have argued against these things for a while, all the while praising the reels. Well, all series have been redone. I take it all back when it comes to the Carbon, Mettle and Factor series. All look to be very good values. The feel is vastly improved over previous generations.

I swore off Falcon rods but bought a couple of the Falcon Altrax for $49 and have had good luck with them Academy has them

Might have to go take a look at them. I need another worm rod. "Need" is very subjective btw. Lol.

Not bad at all. Floor has been raised on rods as most mass produced rods are china anyway.
We didnt know how good we had it when American made Falcon, Cast-a-way, and All Star were all available off the shelf at Academy

You are correct. I still have at least 2 of each of those brands in circulation. But ALX is probably my favorite rod at the moment. You can get their Hustler glass rod (chatterbaits) for about $165 so it's not terribly high.
