Looking to get some ac parts tomorrow. Is this something someone might carry that’s open tomorrow? Don’t know that I’ve ever sent anything like that at Home Depot or the big stores.

Have a few spares- what size do you need- assume it is a dual run/start capacitor?

Most AC guys have them on their truck. Those are the cheap Chinese ones that break.

I had a 1 year old Chinese on go out at my daughters.

Went to the supply house and asked for a MARS (American Made). I told him the other one was just a year old. He said he is not selling them anymore. Gave me a great price on two. One is a spare...

Everyone should figure out what size capacitor is in their AC/Heat Pump and buy an extra and keep it in a cool dry place.

Run capacitor on the condenser fan? I've got a unit running with a box fan. Lay the fan on top the unit so it draws air through the coils. Keep an eye on It to make sure it's hot overheating. I've even left the fan running over night, it would create enough suction to get the fan spinning fast enough to start. Or you could try the chop stick method.

I don't understand why Lowe's/ home Depot don't stock caps and contactors in the summer. They could mark them up 300% and people would pay for the convenience

Ac guy got me running last night. Will use my ordered ones as spares.

I agree Home Depot or someone should stock them. I gladly would have paid a convenience fee yesterday to get them locally

call an a/c service that has "on call service"

talk to the guy an ask if you can come pick it up at his house.

that way all it costs you is for the part itself and not the insane time and a half emergency call out labor rates.
