You need to try the trigger on a few different guns to see if you want a stiff or smooth trigger. I bought a S&W 9ve and hated the trigger especially after getting my glock 17 .

I’m looking to purchase a 9mm for home defense and carrying when riding utv. I’m not really familiar with pistols and debating whether I should spend 600 bucks or would a 300 dollar Canik work just as well? I tried a VP9 and Glock 19 and defiantly liked the feel of the VP9.
Now that I've discovered the Shield Arms 15-round mag for the 43x, that gun is next on my list. No real question now.

I just bought a Walther PPQ. Try that trigger out. It’s damn smooth.
I have the PPQ 45 and that trigger is definitely butter. Decent size gun, though.

Don't frick around. Just buy the VP9 and be done. It's the best 9mm out of the box. It's accurate, fits like a glove, and has everything else you could want.

Love my VP9...very good gun. Cannot go wrong with it. You’ll like it more than a glock. I have a couple glocks but end up shooting my big sig x5 legion and VP9 much more often.

I love the block.
If its riding around a utv I'd go with the smith and the manual safety. Especially at the $250-300 price point its a no brainer
