Get a BAR or Remington 7400 (or whatever their semi-auto is) for hog hunting. You really will have enough time to fire more than 6 shots at hogs at one time before re-loading?

The only way I'll keep this 6.8 is if someone tells me it kills hogs better than ULM.

You're going to be a doctor in short order anyway, so what's a few hundred bucks a year on ammo...

That rem 700 will smoke em as good as any ar will.

If you must have an AR, it makes the most sense to get it in. 308 since you already have a rifle in that caliber.

Eta: or maybe 7.62x39 if you wanna be different?

I believe Rock River Arms recently introduced an AR15 in 7.62x39 that will accept AK mags. That's a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

That would get great. I have 2 AKs and tons of 7.62x39 stockpiled.

Actually, that's a pretty good idea. Can usually find a beat up Remington semi-auto for not too much $$.

I wonder if it accepts the polymer mags better than a standard AK.

Sell your 6.8 upper (you can probably get $500+ for it), and get a 5.56/223 upper. Check out Palmetto State Armory. Great prices and outstanding product.

I have hunted hogs here in FL for years using 5.56/223. Big ones are shot in the ear hole...DRT! Follow up shots, if needed, are quick and easy. A good red-dot added to the rig makes for a great hog-killer.

7.62x39 is a hog killin' muthuh in my book.

Just use cheap ball/solid point ammo...it keyholes and make a nasty exit wound, especially if it goes through the shoulders or hams.

Big BAR fan here I really want one of these for hogs. FN FNAR .308 Win It's a little heavy but.

It's 999.00 at Buds.
That's the (cash discount) price.

FN FNAR .308 Win - 999.00

You obviously didn't read the rest of the thread. I have two other ARs in 5.56. I have no need for a third in the same caliber.
