a friend of mine actually killed one similar to this in the early '80s...the legs on the back were shorter and stuck straight up...the deer ran by him and the two legs on the back were also running!....

Friend of mine killed a hermaphrodite buck about 6 years ago. Only freakier looking deer I've ever seen. Thing was like 270 lbs. and had cactuses coming out of his head. About an inch of lard between his meat and skin, matted hair. Disgusting looking. But made a cool looking mount. nearly 20 points and still in velvet. Ark. game and fish said there were unlikely to have more than two in the entire state.

I believe so. Usually it is contained inside in the form of a cyst, sometimes with teeth and hair. Not sure what makes them do this. Maybe BP can explain that, but I assume they can continue to develope given a blood supply.
