So, my termite company has called my wife telling her we need a 5 year treatment (age of the house). We have had annual treatments each year. They are quoting $450 to trench and treat around the house, drill the expansion joints to treat, and treat the tub overflows.

They say that if we don't do this, we'll lose our $150k termite coverage.

What says the OB? Ripoff? Who else should I call to quote?

Is the "termite coverage" worth the paper it's written on?

I believe annual inspections and 5 year treatments are fairly standard

Try to collect on the 150k policy if you ever get termites. They'll say it doesn't cover Formosan termites which is the majority of what we have.

or that the termites were caused by pre-existing water damage

That's pretty much where I stand. My wife is an attorney, though, so maybe I'll have her pick it apart.

i had a termite contract when i moved into my house. IT has since expired. Should i get a new one? It seems yall arent too confident it will do anything if yall have damage.

BTW about once a month i do spray the parimeter of my house with a mix of suspend and bifen.

You spray anything inside? If so, what do you use?

That's who I'm dealing with. I just tried calling Terminix and wasted about 10 minutes for non-answers. Dude asked me if we have active termites. I said that we saw a couple during the swarming season and he said, well they can't just do the inspect and protect plan. Then I asked for the price of inspect and protect and he informed me that he can't answer that, I'm just at a call center.

A few people have recommended J&J Exterminating. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Yeah, I get anxious every April or May because I start to see them in my house and I think I have an infestation. I call Arrow and they tell me to call them back if I still see them in a month. I never call them back

I think I'm just going to tell Arrow to do their thing and be done with it.

suspend.

I have read suspend is best for inside and the bifen (talstar) is better for outside. so i mix them outside because i want to open a can of whoopass on them outside.
