This is not mine, found on another site:
Quoted:
Trapped 44 hogs last night. 2 loads have already been taken and sold. Over 2,500 lbs of pork and we still have 14 hogs in the trap LOL. My buddy has been feeding this group for 3 months now and this feeder/trap is less than 500 yds from my blind so I am thrilled to have them gone.

All of them were trapped with the push of one single IPhone button

nice haul.

Based on that trap that works out to about 40-50 dollars a hog spent considering feed.

I heard Tx pays a bounty on hogs. Any truth to that? Whats the going rate over there for hog removal services?

TX bounty is a county by county thing. Our county tried it several years ago and ran out of money to fund it (a predicted 2 yr supply of funds) in 2 months.

Some people will buy them live though and they pay by the lb. usually 12-40 cents per lb depending on size.

We used to catch them live with dogs and horses back when I was in my prime and living in NELA. That shite was the best. The ones we didn't take alive, we typically killed with a knife. We all had a sidearm, but shot very few of them.

for what it's worth guys the set up in the original post is what the bankers team supposedly had 50 of in the hog contest. Coupled with the new rule that no one could check traps for you, we did not have a chance.

Taking that many at one time can put a huge dent in the population. I have read many times that traps are the only thing that you can gain ground on their ridiculous reproductive rate

Trapping, helicopter, thermal at night and dogs are best ways. Random hunting can't keep up
